School Uniform

I. Introduction

A. In public school classroom there is an issue and it is about school uniform. Should public school students be allowed to make individual decisions about clothing, or should all students be required to wear a uniform.

B. I have research this and I wore one for 15 years. And the question remain should all students be required to wear a uniform?

C. And I say they should wear a uniform.

D. In order to convince you I am going to tell you (1) why student thinks uniform restricted their freedom of expression? (2) what is my opinion on wearing school uniform? (3) and why school should have offer uniform

II. Body

A. This is why student thinks uniform restricted their freedom of expression

1. The other side thinks uniform restricted their freedom of expression.

a. Well according to the US Constitution “the First Amendment guarantees that all individuals have the right to express themselves freely. But it can hardly be argued that either students or teachers shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression.”

b. According to debate.org a website where people go and give their opinion. So in this website 81% say yes that school uniform violates a student right to freedom of expression and 19% say no it does not.

c. One of the one who say “yes” says “Students need to be able to express who they are. They need to know that everyone is different, and that everyone is unique in their own way. School uniforms hold students back in life. Yes, it might decrease bullying a little bit, but then students would find other things to bully each other about.”

d. And One of the one who say “no” says “Uniforms eliminate social differences at school. Some students have a hard enough time at school and don't need bullies to add onto it. Uniforms give students a sense of security and put them on the same level as a bully. Students can have one less problem to worry about with uniforms.

B. Now here is my opinion on school uniform.

1. I believe all students should require to wear a uniform. Opponents of mandatory uniforms say that students who wear school uniforms cannot express their individuality, the way they usually are. School is a place to learn, no to show wealth and fashion society must decide if individual expression through clothing is more important than improved educational performance. Also wearing school uniform makes everyone feel equal.

2. And It is important to remember that school uniforms would be worn just during school hours. On the other hand, students can express their identity in the way they wear outside of the classroom

C. This is why school should have offer uniforms.

1. Wearing school uniform would help makes student lives simpler.

a. first, they would no longer have to decide what to wear every morning, sometimes trying on outfit after outfit in an effort to choose. Uniform would not only save time but also would eliminate the stress associated with finding an appropriates clothing to be well-presented.

b. Wearing uniform also save parent’s budget because some students tend to buy more and more clothing in order to be fashion or just because they do not want to repeat the same clothing. So wearing uniform allows not to waste money in every clothing season.

c. Second, school uniforms influence students to be responsible individually or in group and they promote good discipline inside the classroom and the school in the same way. Like I was saying earlier uniforms give students the message that school is a place to learn, no to show wealth and fashion.

III. Conclusion

And I consider that wearing a uniform makes students more responsible and disciplined and for the ones who cannot be outfitted is better because they avoid gossiping and criticism among other students.
